Leading Carrier Integrates Vertafore PortalServer into Existing Systems, Allowing Agents to Edit Policies Efficiently and Quickly

BOTHELL, Wash. – March 29, 2011 – Vertafore (http://www.vertafore.com), a leading provider of software and information to the insurance industry, today announced that Donegal Insurance Group (http://donegalgroup.com), a regional property and casualty insurance group, has implemented Vertafore PortalServer to facilitate its Commercial Policy Change service for online policy change processing across two commercial product lines. Vertafore PortalServer, which easily integrates in-house software services, allows insurance carriers to web-enable legacy systems efficiently, quickly and cost-effectively.
With the addition of Vertafore PortalServer, Donegal’s Commercial Policy Change service improves the change process for agents to provide the best customer experience possible. PortalServer also enables easy maintenance and in-house support for Donegal. The company plans to expand Commercial Policy Change to include all commercial lines in the near future.

Vertafore PortalServer, a tool-based solution based on Microsoft .NET technology, automates the behind-the-scenes work necessary to web-enable Donegal’s commercial lines of business, business rules and rating engine in their policy administration system. Rather than duplicating processes, PortalServer leverages the data, validations and processes in the insurer’s existing systems. Donegal leveraged PortalServer’s integration capabilities to incorporate the service with existing systems for ZIP + 4 verification, VIN validation, coastal mapping, printing and a custom component for class code eligibility.
