BOTHELL, Wash.
– March 26, 2010 — Vertafore (http://www.vertafore.com), a leading provider of software and services to the insurance industry, today announced Vertafore Identity Management, a more streamlined and secure system for password and identity management that will allow users to access all their Vertafore products and connect with federated business partners with one username and password. Vertafore Identity Management will be publicly available toward the end of 2010.
This technology confronts the everyday problems surrounding multiple password management, complicated identity management, time-consuming provisioning and credentials verification. Built on open technology standards, Vertafore Identity Management will be interoperable with major Identity Management/Federation vendors and systems. Industry leaders such as BB&T Insurance Services are already committed to adopting this technology to improve agent-carrier connectivity.

Vertafore Identity Management includes four capabilities that improve identity management, which simplifies security and mitigates risk across the entire insurance vertical (agents, carriers and MGAs):

- Single Sign-On (SSO): Enables users to log into one Vertafore product and immediately have access to all other Vertafore products for which the user has rights or licenses. This will drastically simplify the user experience and, thus, increase productivity.
- Identity manager: Reduces administrative complexity and improves security through a Web-based tool for centralized user provisioning and self service.
- Identity federation: Eliminates the need for a user to login with each carrier, which greatly simplifies the real-time connectivity process for users in a more secure manner.
- Credential store: Provides centralized, secure access to carrier credentials and reduces the complexity of managing the large number of passwords an agent typically needs to work with carrier websites. Credential management will work immediately with carrier partners who don’t yet have the ability to federate.
