McKernan's strong background in customer service well-suited for new role

BOTHELL, Wash. - Feb. 26, 2009 - Vertafore, a provider of market-leading software and services to the insurance industry, today announced that Matt McKernan has been named President, Vertafore Carrier & MGA Markets.
In this role, McKernan will oversee the company's products and services for Property & Casualty and Life & Health carriers, Managing General Agents (MGAs), reinsurers and premium finance companies. These products include the ImageRight content management and workflow solution, AIM (Agency Information Manager), Phoenix policy administration system, FinancePro premium finance solutions, and agent-carrier connectivity services.

Prior to joining Vertafore, McKernan held a variety of executive positions during a 10-year career at CheckFree, a business unit of Fiserv Corp., a Fortune 500 company with a nearly $6 billion market cap that provides information management and electronic commerce systems and services to the financial industry. Most recently McKernan was senior vice president and general manager of CheckFree's Health and Fitness Division and its Biller Business Division. Prior to CheckFree, McKernan held sales positions at Reuters America and Dow Jones.
Menzies also announced that Don Elias, one of the founders of ImageRight, will leave Vertafore in late March. Elias joined Vertafore when the company acquired ImageRight in 2007.
"Don was key to building the outstanding ImageRight franchise within the insurance industry and has been invaluable in supporting a smooth transition of the company into Vertafore," Menzies said. "Although we explored a number of options to keep Don within the company, he decided to take some well-deserved time off before embarking on his next venture."
McKernan's appointment was announced this week in conjunction with a corporate reorganization at Vertafore. The reorganization enables Vertafore to align its business units to meet their customers' changing needs with unprecedented, innovative solutions and capabilities across the insurance distribution channel, Menzies said.
