Greg Dunn

Chief Financial Officer

Vertafore - Greg Dunn
"I believe in the power of software to improve the way we do work. I believe the role of finance at Vertafore is to enable to company to deliver on that promise to our customers by supporting key business initiatives and building financial health."

Greg believes in the power of finance to drive the growth and vision of a company. He leads on a philosophy that data and collaboration within a business can drive solutions. He has seen this in industries as varied as software, industrial manufacturing, and automotive—as well as companies from start-ups to growth stage, and 100+ year old U.S. bellwethers.

Greg has held senior and executive finance and accounting roles in the SaaS sector with companies like Adobe, Marketo, Epicor, and MaritzCX. Prior to those roles he held strategic roles at large Fortune 500 companies including General Electric, eBay and Fiat Chrysler. Greg started his career at Big 4 accounting firm EY in Silicon Valley, auditing high tech and bio tech companies. Greg received both an MBA and a Bachelor’s in Accountancy from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Greg’s 5 fast facts:

What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?

I love how finance can enable the success of the business. With the right collaboration and partnering, we can provide amazing customer experiences by ensuring we have built a financially strong business.

How did you get into the InsurTech business?

My career has been a series of firsts. I have supported a number of SaaS industries—including marketing engagement and customer feedback—and various non-software industries like industrial manufacturing, automotive, internet platforms, financial services, and biotechnology. Every role is an opportunity to bring a lifetime of experience to a new, amazing group of customers and I am excited about the opportunity to meet our customer base in InsurTech.

What are you most excited for the future of InsurTech?

I have a strong belief in the ability of software solutions to allow the world to focus on the decisions that humans should be spending their time on rather than the tasks that simply need to get done. I'm excited about the direction Vertafore is moving to enable our customers to unlock this potential for their own companies.

What's your idea of the perfect weekend?

Weekends are for family. If we're not going from one sports game to the next, we're probably outdoors taking a hike, going on a bike ride, or exploring somewhere new.

I'm coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city?

While I spend a lot of time in Denver with the Vertafore team, home is Salt Lake City. And both cities feel so similar. When you come to Salt Lake plan to come ski/snowboard up in Park City … or closer to Salt Lake where the locals rave over resorts like Alta, Snowbird, and Snowbasin. Outside of ski season Southern Utah is an amazing collage of red rock hikes in the 5 National Parks – and the many unknown state parks and hidden slot canyons. If you want to catch a game come join me to see the “Holy War” football game between BYU and the University of Utah, or a high-octane Utah Jazz NBA basketball game.
