Great American’s Alternative Markets Names Guidry Vice President

Great American Insurance Group announced that Jennifer C. Guidry has joined the Alternative Markets Division as vice president of Business Development and Marketing. Guidry, who is based in Windsor, Connecticut, will lead the strategy and execution for the sourcing, due diligence, and onboarding of new program business for the division.

Guidry comes to Great American from The Hartford, where she worked for 15 years, most recently as assistant vice president of product management. Her past experience also includes work at Zurich Financial Services. In addition to programs and captives, her underwriting experience includes small commercial, book consolidation and construction.

Alternative Markets specializes in niche program business. Product offerings include countrywide workers’ compensation, general liability, iroperty, inland marine, Auto, and umbrella, as well as a business owners policy and package.

Vertafore Names Nguyen as Chief Technology Officer

Insurance technology firm Vertafore has named Liz Nguyen to the role of chief technology officer. She is the first woman to hold the position.

As CTO, Nguyen leads Vertafore’s development and technology operations teams in their efforts to build solutions that simplify and automate the insurance life cycle.

Nguyen joined Vertafore in February 2019 as vice president of product development, bringing 20 years’ experience in software product development, design and management at organizations that include Deloitte Consulting, Ventyx and P2 Energy Solutions.
