Rick is Vice President and Head of Agency Sales at Vertafore, where he leads a national team of sales professionals and plays an integral role in building connections with independent agencies and the technology solutions that drive their success. Rick also hosts the Vertafore Insurance Podcast.
Prior to joining Vertafore, Rick served as senior vice president of sales and marketing and chief revenue officer at Agency Revolution before being named president in 2017. He was also a successful independent agency owner, having built this brokerage from scratch and through acquisitions before exiting the business in 2009.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Washington and spends his free time with his wife and three teenagers.

1. What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?
Vertafore is such a large presence in the industry that it gives me the biggest opportunity to affect change. In my role, I have the opportunity to help sales teams learn about the industry and our customers, and to figure out how to solve problems and evolve.
2. How did you get into the InusrTech business?
I started out as an agency owner, and after I sold my business I joined Vertafore. Once I was in InsurTech, I never left.
3. What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech?
It feels like we’re finally at a point where insurance is ready to embrace technology, and the evolution of the independent agent is exciting to be a part of.
4. What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?
Family and beach.
5. I’m coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city?
Simple: have an ice-cold beer on Siesta Key beach outside of Sarasota.
