4 Must-Have Apps to Boost Your Productivity Potential

Posted on June 22, 2016 by Phyllis Gillman

Phyllis Productivity

Right now. Today. You have the unique chance to make someone’s day better.

That fact is a huge driver in my life. I have the chance to come into work, talk to people, and make their day better than it was before they spoke with me. Whether you can solve your clients’ problem today or not, the way you speak to them and the way you’re able to connect makes a difference. The way you work, multitask and manage the toughest projects can affect your patience as well as the way you interact with prospects and customers alike.

Some days I falter in my own efforts. I take on too much. I multitask to a fault and the quality of my work suffers. I lose my patience. We’re not perfect, but as I move forward, I know I always have room to improve in order to be the best coworker and customer service professional I can be.

We’ve talked a lot about insurance agency productivity and multitasking on here in recent weeks and months. And there’s a reason for that: as customer service professionals in the insurance industry, those topics are of upmost importance to all of us doing our jobs at the highest level. The quality of our work, our stress levels, and our overall satisfaction can depend on how well we handle (and tackle) our workloads.

Since the way you work coincides so closely with the way you interact with customers, I’ve tracked down the best four apps for productivity and time management. We all can use a bit of assistance in organizing our days, so it's best to take help where you need it, and make the most of each day!

Here are four apps I found particularly interesting options for improving productivity:

Freedom

This is my favorite app for forcing me to block out time on my calendar for important projects and making sure I don’t get distracted by emails popping into the corner of my computer or checking my LinkedIn profile too often. (And it’s free!).

Freedom app

Papier

While there are a lot of great apps for jotting down notes and saving ideas, Papier is one of my favorites. It allows me to multitask smarter by opening up a virtual notepad when I open a new tab in my browser. No more searching for paper or opening my OneNote. Stay focused. Write down information you need and immediately get back to what you’re doing before you stall your progress.

Pocket

A couple weeks ago, we talked about the importance of time management and identifying time wasters. Pocket has been a great resource for me, allowing me to save articles and news for later, and in turn, postponing my distractions for when I have time to spend reading and learning.

Timing is everything.

Put those articles, recipes and inspiration in your “pocket” and save them for later.

One Big Thing

Sometimes you just have to simplify your life and your job. Tackle that ONE big (I mean really big) thing. Now.

This app helps you focus on your most important priorities. One of the biggest obstacles I encounter in my job is distractions. But this app helps remind me of the one big thing I really need to accomplish today.

Are there any apps you use that I haven't listed here? Let me know in the comments section below :)
