Microsoft Weighs in on Insurance Disruption

Posted on April 11, 2016 by Guy Weismantel

Digital Insurer Blog

Microsoft and Vertafore have a lot in common.

Both companies call the Pacific Northwest home, we both hang our hats on our ability to build world-class software, and most recently, we realized we both share similar views on digital disruption facing the insurance industry.

While it’s true we have a partnership with Microsoft to run some of our newest products on their world-renown Dynamics CRM solution (take a look at Salestrack), the truth is, it wasn’t until very recently that we noticed we have very similar viewpoints on the future of insurance. This particular quote in their E-book really jumped out at me: "The traditional approach to doing business is not sustainable - or logical - in today's complex and fast-moving business environment."

Sounds familiar, right?

Anyone who has followed my blog as of late knows that I truly believe that insurance professionals at every level should adopt the mindset of: "The pain of same, is greater than the pain of change."

Disruption motto

I'd urge each of you to take some time out of your day to open the Microsoft's recent E-Book, "Insurance in the Age of Digital Disruption, and see the importance of transitioning your agency to the digital world, from their perspective.

Microsoft's Digital Disruption in Insurance E-Book

A few of the common themes I've seen emerging in the insurance ecosystem as of late are covered in the E-Book above:

1. The digital revolution

2. Thriving in the age of digital disruption

3. Becoming a digital insurer

4. And Preparing for a digital future

Over the next few weeks we'll be diving deeper into these themes and explore some of the data and supporting research that really validate digital disruption. So until next Monday, take some time to sit down and watch Microsoft's free on-demand webinar, "The digital revolution: act or react?", featuring Karlyn Carnahan, Research Director at Celent.
