Building Better Together at NetVU17

Posted on March 07, 2017 by Ryan Gachet in Employee Life

For the third year in a row, the Experience Design Team is going to bring our Human-Centered Design approach to NetVU by engaging our customers in short-burst interactive design exercises that will help us refine our products.

Customers sometimes have extracurricular fun with the white boards too, as I found during last year’s conference.

We’re making a few changes this year based on our experiences from past NetVU conferences. Our lab will have scheduled user testing sessions for attendees who are engaged and interested in shaping our products—and perhaps becoming future Design Partners.

For those with a packed conference schedule, we’re offering a series of small experiments, sending out roving designers, and setting up experience boards connected to social media. These will allow users with little time to still engage with us and provide their insight into our products.

I’ll also be giving a 5-minute presentation in our the main Vertafore booth to promote the power of Design Thinking, and our team will be active in numerous education sessions.

Sr. Experience Designer Justin Ludington, center, leads attendees through a card sorting exercise while working with Sr. Product Manager Patrick Masi in a product design session.

For the in-depth sessions, we’ll be doing extensive testing around Vertafore Agency Platform enhancements—focusing on the Dashboard, Work Queue, keyboard interactions, and enhancing the overall visual design for the Vertafore Agency Platform. We’re also going to run a series of experiments to gain insights into how we can leverage some of the cutting-edge innovations like machine learning, chat bots and virtual assistants.

Are you attending NetVU17? Stop by the Design Lab and meet the team. You never know when a quick chat might lead to big improvements in the future!
