Vertafore - Manisha Patel
Finance isn’t just about numbers—it’s about enabling smart decisions. We empower the business with clarity, agility, and accountability. We serve our customers best when we help the company move faster, invest smarter, and stay resilient in a rapidly evolving insurance landscape."

Manisha Patel is a seasoned finance executive with a strong background in strategic financial leadership across several industries with most recently in the insurance and home services industry.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and started her career at KPMG in San Francisco. After serving six years there and becoming a manager she left to join the energy industry. Manisha spent a decade at APR Energy starting as an FP&A Manager and within 6 months helped the company list on the London Stock Exchange via a SPAC process. She then expanded her role to not only FP&A but also investor relations and M&A. After a decade she joined Porch Group (NASDAQ: PRCH). She spent her first 3 months developing the FP&A team and structure as the company went public on NASDAQ. She then expanded her role into Treasury and oversaw insurance finance once the company acquired their first home insurance carrier business.

Manisha’s time at APR Energy taught her how to manage complex financial operations in a fast-paced, asset-intensive environment, where agility and precision are critical. At Porch, she gained hands-on experience scaling a tech-driven platform, navigating both the startup and public company landscapes. Together, these roles sharpened her ability to lead finance teams through growth, streamline operations, and align strategy with customer needs—all of which are key as Vertafore help insurance companies modernize through software!

Manisha lives in Jacksonville, FL, with her husband, Priyesh, and their 8-year-old daughter, Sohani. In her spare time, Manisha loves to run and competes in half-marathons, 5Ks, and 10Ks. She sits on the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and previously was a Board Member and Treasurer of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's North Florida chapter. Manisha enjoys traveling with her family. They have been to six of the seven continents with aspirations to see Antarctica one day!

Manisha's 5 Fast Facts

What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?

The CFO role sits at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and impact. As a major player in the insurance technology space, Vertafore operates in a complex and ever-evolving landscape, so the Finance team isn’t just the numbers people—we’re a key driver of growth and transformation.

I love how my role touches all facets of the business and how I get to work with a group of individuals that are passionate about the insurance industry and striving to deliver the best!

How did you get into the InsurTech business?

My previous company was a new kind of homeowners’ insurance company that built a vertically integrated platform combining insurance with software and services for the entire homeownership journey. What sets them apart from other carriers is how they use data and technology.

From the carrier perspective, these insurance tech platforms are the backbone of how insurance companies operate and engage with clients. Coming to Vertafore allows me the opportunity to leverage my experience and continue to deliver value in this rapidly growing space.

What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech?

The future of InsurTech feels like it's reaching a real tipping point. From my perspective, what’s most thrilling is how it’s moving from disruption to deep integration. Instead of just being shiny new platform on the edges, InsurTech is becoming the backbone of how insurance companies operate, engage with clients and agents, and manage risk.

With advances in AI and data analytics, insurers can tailor policies to individual behavior and preferences. We will see dynamic premiums based on real-time data. What’s truly exciting is how it’s reshaping the entire value chain, from underwriting to claims, with intelligence, speed, and personalization.

What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?

A perfect weekend includes a great workout (including my burpees), getting in my 10K steps, enjoying a nice cup of decaf Americano coffee or chai and spending the rest of the day outdoors with the family or playing board games!
