Wendy's 5 Fast Facts

What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?

I love working with a team of dedicated people who are passionate about their craft and want to make a difference for others—and at Vertafore, it’s the idea of “powering your possible.”

With marketing, there’s always something we can do better to connect with our customers. I enjoy the spark that happens for the whole team when we anchor this focus with the idea of “for real people, by real people.”

How did you get into the InsurTech business?

I am new to the insurance technology space, but for much of my career I’ve worked for tech companies that serve many industries, including insurance. I’ve always felt that I was just skimming the surface, so I’m excited to go deep with InsurTech!

What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech?

There is so much happening that makes InsurTech such a dynamic space—everything from variable economic conditions to new possibilities introduced by artificial intelligence. As part of that, everyone along the value chain of insurance—from carriers to agents and end-insureds—has evolving needs and expectations. And as the InsurTech leader, we can bring innovation that powers expanding possibilities in this new era and provide the stability and flexibility the ecosystem needs.

What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?

There are so many forms a perfect weekend can take, but overall, it includes an outdoor adventure with friends and family or the solace of a solo hike, time for New York Times app games, lounging on the porch and visiting with neighbors passing by, and that sense of community that comes from being at a small concert venue for live music.

I’m coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city?

What I love about Utah is its blend of outdoor adventure, sightseeing, concerts and eclectic eateries—there’s so much within 45 minutes of Salt Lake City. In summer, it’s hiking just about everywhere and all the outdoor concert series—downtown at the Gallivan Center, slopeside at Deer Valley and the Canyons resorts, and at Sundance for the outdoor Bluebird Café singer/songwriter series. And winter! Well, world-class skiing—take your pick of ten local resorts! And for adaptive athletes and adventurers, we have the National Ability Center in Park City to help everyone experience the great outdoors.
