My business hero is my grandmother — one of the first female executives in a Fortune 500 manufacturing company. She taught me the value and impact of diversity, intellect and capability in the workplace. I was drawn to the technology industry because the philosophy matched my upbringing and Marine Corps training. It was all about working with the smartest, most capable people and achieving outcomes. That bedrock philosophy in tech still exists today — in particular here at Vertafore. We’re all about collaborating and brainstorming on that next big idea to improve the lives of our customers. We’re all about empowering our employees to solve customer pain points, achieve quantitative outcomes and exploring their innovative nature. And we do all of this while bringing our “whole selves” to work and having a ton of fun — because when you think about it, we’re all at our best when we enjoy what we do and, hopefully, get to laugh every day.
